The Gap No One Talks About
You know how to coach. Building a practice is a different skill.
Most coaches complete their training, step out into the world, and then stall. Not because they can't coach. Because nobody taught them how to consistently create clients.
Your coach training prepares you to be an excellent coach. This series prepares you to be a coach with a thriving practice. The foundation of a coaching business is not a website, a LinkedIn profile, or a perfect niche statement. It is the ability to have real conversations — consistently, honestly, and without the anxiety that stops most coaches before they start.
That is what this series is about.
Perhaps you have thought or even said out loud something similar to this:
- "I don't want to come across as pushy or salesy."
- "I'm putting content out there, but it's not creating clients."
- "I don't know how to talk about what I do without it feeling awkward."
- "I got a no last week, and I'm still thinking about it."
- "I have contacts. I just never reach out to them about coaching."
An ICF Switzerland Community Initiative
Designed for the ICF Switzerland coaching community — grounded in the ICF's commitment to professional excellence and built around the real challenges coaches face when developing their practice. All content aligns with ICF ethical standards and core competencies.
The Programme
Four sessions. One complete system.
📅6:30 pm CET · 90 minutes
Each session opens with 30 minutes of expert input — a framework, a distinction, a concrete methodology. Then, 60 minutes where you work through your actual situation with the group. You leave every session with a specific commitment for the week ahead.
May 26 — Session 1: “Understanding the basics of creating conversations.” Most coaches are busy with content, learning, and preparation. Fewer are consistently in the conversations that build a practice. This session maps what actually creates a coaching business, clarifies the five channels through which clients come, and gets you into action before session two.
June 1 — Session 2: “What blocks us from having more clients?” This is where most business trainings don't go. The problem is rarely a missing tactic — it's the thinking that stops you from picking up the phone, following up, or making the ask. Honest, practical, peer-supported work on what is actually in the way.
June 8 — Session 3: “What creates real value in a conversation?” There's a version of an enrollment conversation that feels like selling. And a version that feels like serving. This session is about the second kind — what moves people, what genuine commitment to their outcome sounds like, and how to make an offer that feels natural and honest.
June 16 — Session 4:” Multiple ways to put yourself in front of more clients” Six practical channels: referrals, speaking, writing, video, networking, and advertising basics. You'll close with a one-year vision for your practice and the first concrete action you're taking the week ahead.
We prefer you join the community live and work with us throughout all sessions. Still, all sessions will be recorded, so if you can't make one date, you still can catch up and join the other sessions.
How it Works
Not a training you watch. A community you work in.
Expert Input: 30 minutes of direct, practical teaching each session — a framework or methodology you can apply immediately, delivered by coaches who have built what you are building.
Peer Working Sessions: 60 minutes working through your actual situation with other coaches. Not theory. Your real conversations, your real blocks, your real next steps.
Weekly Commitments: You leave each session with a clear, specific commitment. You come back the following week and share what happened. Action is built into the structure.
Community Momentum: Seeing other coaches in motion — sharing wins, sharing sticking points — keeps you moving between sessions. The group becomes a source of energy, not just information.
Immediate Application: This is not a course you complete and apply later. Every session is designed so that you are already in new conversations by the time you return the following week.
A System You Keep: By session four, you have a personal client-creation approach — a map of the channels and habits that fit how you work and who you serve — long after the series ends.
Your Speakers
Four coaches. Four perspectives. One shared goal.
The speakers for this series are ICF-credentialed coaches who have built their own practices and are bringing what actually worked — not theory — into each session.
